Awards Ceremony
The award Ceremony of the 2010 ICGP Championship held at the restaurant Le France in Paris on 20th of November 2010.

On this saturday 20th of November the motorcycle activity was complete because the ICGP team also attended the Salon Moto Legende show.
Sharing, good humor, celebrities, encounter, all the ingredients were there to make for a good reunion.

Then as usual, it was an excellent atmosphere that greeted the riders of the ICGP, mechanics, photographers, partners and all those that followed during the year and helped the ICGP series when they met in the restaurant Le France in the 14th arrondissement in Paris for the Awards Ceremony.

Full room with Phil Read, Guy Bertin or Walter Hoffmann, alongside Eric Saul. Many had responded present.

The cocktail is served with films and slide shows on the 2010 season ICGP embellished by excellent appetizer prepared by Daniel and his team opened the evening. All in a Rock 'n Roll atmosphere and good spirits which captures the image of what ICGP has been for the last 10 years.
All eyes were fixed on the screen and were swept along by the action portrayed by the various films prepared for the occasion by Sandrine and Jeremie.

English, French and Germans were all there, even Wolfgang Volk who had sold his bike during the season was there (it is not the last we will see of him as he is planning to prepare a Yamaha TZ for next year), Mandy Jordan and Hughe Mallet, the main photographers of the 2010 season were there too.

The first slideshow was a film of the iron horse, biker classics filmed by Motors TV, a film made during the 2010 ICGP Le Mans race, all the films were well received by the audience.

The atmosphere guaranteed that everybody enjoyed viewing the pictures of the past season, commaraderie, comments, good humor, a treat !

The awards ceremony took place between the different courses of the dinner and began with the Master Class

In 6th place we found Patrice Fanchon who made some very good races this year, Walter Hoffmann in 5th position with only one race, a position which proved the riding level of the rider.

In 4th place was TT Roger Timms with his very good humour, with his outstanding rides he offered us a very good season. Then it is the turn of Marc Auboiron for 3rd place with very good races and excellent participation, an ovation greets him as he receives his trophy.

Bernard Tabarly in 2nd place unfortunately had to cancel his attendance at the last minute, too bad he is not here tonight because his consistency has made him a strong man of this 2010 championship ... Then Richard Peers-Jones, winner of the category - once again a trophy for the winner, untouchable and very fast, he was hard to beat for his competitors!

Congratulations to all 3 as well as everyone in this category Master Class !!

Dinner was punctuated with magic tricks from a distinguished talented guest, Aurelien Davoli.
With extraordinary mastery he took the guests into his magic world, leaving more than one speechless when he completed his tricks just a few centimeters from you, in "close up" as they say in the jargon of magicians.

His excellent magic tricks enthralled the guests and made everyone a bit more curious, worse, each table asking for more! Passionate as he is, he continued to entertain and engaged each table of guests enthusiastically and his show was mind-blowing!!

Then the special trophies were presented - to start with the title of "most unlucky driver of the season" with a terrible crash during the test session of the first race at Le Mans, it blocked him for the rest of the season ...

... I call André Gouin !!

A special prize was awarded to Dominique Guillebert for his attendance this year to ICGP races, he took all his vacation days and spare time to attend all races, big congratulations to him !

A big thank you to Mandy Jordan, pictured here receiving her trophy, she was present at all the races and shared her photos with us and also for the reports she has sometimes written, thank you for this work, punctuality and for her kindness. Then Sandrine Dufils for her help in the daily organisation and management of the championship.

Even the webmaster received his trophy ;) with thanks also going to his wife for their work on the website.

Next came the 250cc class - in 6th place was Steve Clark, who had been unlucky with many breakdowns this year, Colin Sleigh in 5th place was a severe opponent, and it is once again Marc Auboiron receiving a trophy for his 4th place in this category. In 3rd place was Bernard Tabarly, but it is Yves Hecq who received the trophy for his magnificent 2nd place in the championship. He shone throughout the year with his Armstrong and he came from Guadeloupe for the awards, faithful and very nice it is with great pleasure that he is handed the trophy.

And the big Winner of the 250cc class, Eric Saul!!

And to add even more prestige who better than Phil Read himself to present Eric's trophy. A great moment of happiness and sharing that they have offered. Eric has been able to fully compete in the 2010 season, either racing on the track or in the motorcycle preparation, this no-fault this year has bourne fruits for him.

Congratulation Eric !!

Next is the 350cc category. In 6th place it is Robert Burns, who picks up his trophy. Among being Ian Simpson's sponsor he is also a serious sponsor for the ICGP series, he is thanked wholeheartedly for his great sponsorship.
He will be with us again in 2011 as a sponsor and rider in the ICGP.

In 5th place again TT Roger Timms who rises to a public acclamation, Richard Peers-Jones also returns for the 4th place in this category.

In 3rd position is Guy Bertin who is presented with his trophy.

A serious and very hard opponent he still managed to recognise the level of British riders and finds they are not just here just to amuse the gallery, he will have to ensure all his assets to claim the 2011 ICGP title, something he is quite capable of as he has largely proved his potential this year!

Richard Parker taking the 2nd place of the championship.

Excellent rider with a big heart, he attacks very hard and knows how to ride fast with all his head and he is also a very serious title contender, always on the podium this year he has achieved very good results and very good races, next season looks even to be even more highly contended with Richard tight with his sponsor Martin Jones, who also came for this occasion with his wife.

The big winner of this year is none other than Ian Simpson, huge and talented English rider who has proved his superiority by his consistency and talent, the title has played little but he made the difference, a big congratulations to you Ian Simpson !

A big thank you to all riders, the winners, teams, mechanics and companions for this 2010 ICGP season, thank you to Robert Burns and Yves Hecq for their sponsorship, Daniel and his team at the restaurant for the excellent dinner, to log for his help in the evening, Mandy Jordan for her involvement, Hugues Mallet, Classic Racer, and a big thank you to the press this past year which was followed with great interest through various published articles, Moto-station.com, Mototribu.com and to Serge Garcia, Caradisiac moto, LVM, Moto legende, Moto revue classique, Moto Journal, Café-racer and I am sure I have forgetten some of them...

The winners !

ICGP 2011 has new sponsors and partners to come, some are signed and others still under discussion, but also and especially a revised and expanded version of the ICGP website with more categories, with new features and hopefully the opening of the shop, riders details with historical details, prize lists, anecdotes, vintage photos and the possibility to submit your pictures and stories to appear online.

We look forward to seeing you next year for the 2011 ICGP season which will be over 7 races with 2 races per event, so it is with a total 350 points that can be competed for in the 2011 ICGP championship !

The online registration and the 2011 calendar will be available soon, discussions are still underway to close the calendar but know now that as soon as it is available it will be posted to the website and very quickly released.

Thanks to Mandy Jordan
